2014 Lenten Program - Walking the way of Mercy and Simplicity

With New Audio plus New Section "Words of Encouragement from Pope Francis"

In choosing the name 'Francis' in honour of St Francis of Assisi, our new Holy Father is calling the People of God to lives of simplicity and mercy. Born into a wealthy Italian family, St Francis had dreams of becoming a knight but gave this away to follow God's call to him to live a life of prayer, solitude, service and the preaching of the Gospel.

In an increasingly complex world, Christians are called, as always, to live lives that are Christ - centred, extending God's offer of mercy to all people and, by their deeds and words, drawing people into the Christian Faith. When the Christian's will is focussed on doing God's will, they begin to live in accordance with their calling as sons and daughters of God (Gal 3:25-26) and draw more closely to the true source of their happiness, God himself.

"Walking the Way of Mercy and Simplicity" is designed for use by small groups, who come together once a week to pray, to consider the Gospel reading for the following Sunday, and to seek to understand what God is saying to them through a reflection upon the Gospel. For 2014, the reflections have been written by Bishop Peter Comensoli, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Sydney. Additional features include the 'Words of Life' and 'Words of Encouragement from Pope Francis' sections. The 2014/Year A program includes an additional week for Easter Sunday, which encourages people to reflect upon God's mighty deeds together. The program may be used by families and individuals. It is accompanied by a CD containing a reading of the Gospel passage, the reflection, a brief meditation and final hymn.

NOW INCLUDING AN EXTRA WEEK - "THE RESURRECTION". Complete your Lenten Preparations with Praise and Worship during the Easter Week!
